Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov arrived in Tajikistan to hold talks. In the scope his visit to Tajikistan, he came together with Tajik Foreign Minister Hamrokhon Zarifi on Thursday.
Meeting between two counterparts covered the up to date and regional issues as well as the state of cooperation between the two countries.
After the meeting, Lavrov and Zarifi signed the Cooperation Programme of 2013 between foreign ministries of Russia and Tajikistan.
Moreover, in the scope of Lavrov's visit, Tajikistan's President Emomali Rahmon will receive the Russian foreign minister on Thursday.
The two countries have long been embroiled in a bitter dispute over their border, with both sides accusing soldiers of crossing over into the other's territory.
