A major general was injured in an attack on a military convoy in Tikrit, southeastern province of Iraq on Monday. The incident took place in as-Sirsar region in south Tikrit.
Security forces said that two people were injured at the attack, one of which was the deputy commander of the Samarra Operations Command major general Shakir Khalil. The other was an official from Sahva Forces.
Sahva Forces was established by the regional tribes in 2003 following the US invasion in Iraq in order to fight with Al-Qaida.
