Luxury chocolate brand Godiva, acquired by Turkish food maker Ulker in 2007, entered Turkish market with its first store in Istanbul.
The Godiva store opened in Istanbul's chic Nisantasi district.
Ali Ulker, chairman of Ulker Group, said that second Godiva store would be opened in Akmerkez, one of Turkey's first and best-known shopping malls.
"Godiva was a necessity for Turkish market. Godiva will play an important role in prestigious treats market," he said.
Yildiz Holding, owner of Ulker Group and a biscuits and chocolates conglomerate, had acquired Godiva business, renowned for its premium quality chocolate delights, for $850 million from Campbell Soup Company.
