Turkey became the sixth biggest trade partner of the European Union in 2011.
According to Eurostat's figures, Turkish exports to the EU market rose 12 percent to 47.6 billion euro in 2011 when compared to 2010, while the imports increased 19 percent
to 72.7 billion euro in the same period.
Thus, trade volume between Turkey and the EU rose 16 percent to 120.3 billion euro last year. Turkey had been on the seventh rank with 103.6 billion euro in 2010.
Turkey is the fifth country which EU made the highest export, and the seventh country which EU made the highest import in 2011.
