A Turkish Airlines (THY) plane, enroute to Washington, returned to Istanbul due to a failure in landing gears.
THY's Airbus 340-type passenger plane with TK-07 flight number took off from Istanbul's Ataturk Airport at 1:10 p.m. on Wednesday, however, it returned to Istanbul when a failure was detected in the landing gears.
The plane emptied out its fuel over Marmara Sea, and successfully landed at Ataturk Airport.
The passengers will depart from Istanbul for Washington at 6:45 p.m. with another Airbus plane.
