Turkey's top Muslim cleric to visit Greek Orthodox patriarchate
The meeting is especially important as Görmez will be the first head of the Religious Affairs Directorate to visit the Greek Orthodox Patriarch Bartholomew.

According to a statement made by the Religious Affairs Directorate on Wednesday, directorate head Mehmet Görmez will be visiting the Fener Greek Orthodox Patriarchate in İstanbul on Thursday, Anatolia news agency reported.
The meeting is especially important as Görmez will be the first head of the Religious Affairs Directorate to visit the Greek Orthodox Patriarch Bartholomew.
The patriarch had congratulated Görmez on his appointment as chief of the directorate in 2011 and invited him to the patriarchate.
