Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs declared Monday that the Turkish consul general in Syrian city of Aleppo has returned to Ankara.

Turkish Consul General Adnan Kececi has been recalled to the Turkish capital for consultations, diplomatic sources said.

Turkey had evacuated its embassy in the Syrian capital of Damascus in March.
