The Palestinian government in Gaza has called on all Arab, Islamic, and international organizations to warn Israel against persisting in attacks on the holy Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem.

In mid-July Palestinian officials denounced Yehuda Weinstein, the Israeli attorney general, after he claimed that the Al-Aqsa area was part of Israel and referred to the mosque's courtyards as "public space".

The foreign ministry said in a statement on Thursday that the Israeli decision declaring all Aqsa courtyards as public parks aimed at allowing Jews free access into the holy compound at any time.

It said that the “malicious” decision provoked the feelings of Muslims worldwide who regard the Aqsa as one of their holiest shrines.

The statement pointed out that the decision fell in line with the Israel feverish attempts to Judaize the Aqsa after years of diggings and excavations underneath it that threaten its foundations.
