One soldier was killed while 11 people were wounded in the explosion, which happened while a military vehicle was passing by in Foca town of the western province of Izmir on Thursday.
Izmir Governor Cahit Kirac told reporters that one soldier was killed and 11 people were wounded in the explosion in Foca town of Izmir.
Wounded people were taken to Ege University Medical Faculty Hospital, Izmir Katip Celebi University Hospital and Menemen State Hospital.
Roads around the explosion spot were closed to traffic, and operations are under way to capture the assailants.
