The İstanbul Metropolitan Municipality, which recently increased public transportation fees by 10 percent, has said it will undo the price hike for students as of Sept. 17.
The İstanbul Metropolitan Municipality, which recently increased public transportation fees by 10 percent, has said it will undo the price hike for students as of Sept. 17.
According to the new pricing scheme, which came into force on Sept. 1, students, who earlier paid TL 1, have been paying TL 1.10 while travelling by İstanbul Transportation Authority (İETT) buses, privately owned buses and car ferries.
Fares for the elderly and teachers have increased from TL 1.20 to TL 1.35 with the new scheme.
