Sub-governor of the eastern town of Sarikamis, Erdogan Turan Ermis on Wednesday said that a blast took place on the Shah Deniz natural gas pipeline.
Speaking to reporters, Ermis said that the blast took place in a region of forest.
"We do hope that the blast would not lead to a forest fire. We do not yet know the cause of the blast," Ermis stated.
