The Palestinian Authority minister of justice has asked Google to block an anti-Islam video that sparked worldwide protests, his ministry announced on Thursday, reported Ma'an News Agency.

Ali Muhanna sent an official message to Google saying the clip breaches Palestinian law against offending religious sensibilities.

Google has refused to remove the film from YouTube, despite pressure from the White House and others to take it down, though the company has blocked the trailer in Egypt, Libya and several other countries.

The minister said he saw no reason the offensive film should be shown in the Palestinian territories when it has been blocked in other Muslim countries.
