A visit by Russian President Vladimir Putin to Turkey planned for Oct. 14-15 has been postponed until November.

Russian sources say Putin and Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke by phone on Monday and the visit was delayed upon Putin's request. The reason for the delay is yet unknown.

Putin was planning to visit Turkey for a meeting of the Turkey-Russia High Level Cooperation Council, which was established in 2010.
