Turkey has been exerting great efforts to boost relations with United Arab Emirates.

Turkish Ambassador to United Arab Emirates (UAE) Hakki Akil told the A.A correspondent on Sunday that there has been a great progress in military, economic and cultural relations between the two countries in the past seven years.

UAE was one of the countries to which Turkey made a remarkable amount of exports, Akil said.

"There has been a great progress in the economic relations between Turkey and UAE. Turkish companies assumed projects worth 5.3 billion U.S. dollars in this country during the past three years," he said.

Akil also said within the scope of a memorandum of understanding that was signed by the two countries, Middle East Technical University and Istanbul Technical University would open branches in Abu Dhabi.
