The north Sudanese government has prepared a three-year economic plan to cut government spending and make other changes after the oil-producing south secedes, President Omar Hassan al-Bashir said on Thursday.

"We have a three-year economic programme and new measures to meet the issue, which include lowering government spending and increasing revenues," he said in a speech to ruling party officials, adding Sudan would not impose new taxes.

Bashir said the government would also review the state structure and would try to diversify the country's exports. The south is scheduled to break away and form a new country on July 9.
