Turkish FM meets Barzani in Ankara
Sources said al-Hashimi did not have any request to stay long in Turkey, and Iraqi administration did not have any demands regarding al-Hashimi.


Turkey's foreign minister met the head of regional administration in north of Iraq on Friday.

Ahmet Davutoglu and Masoud Barzani discussed more efficient fight against the PKK and economic cooperation during the two-and-a-half-hour meeting in Ankara.

Davutoglu and Barzani also debated Iraq's internal policy and developments in Syria, while Barzani shared his views on the situation in Iraq and briefed Davutoglu on his talks in the United States.

Davutoglu briefed Barzani on meetings of Turkish executives with Iraqi politicians. Barzani and Davutoglu agreed to maintain contact particularly on fight against terrorism.

Moreover, the situation of Iraqi Vice President Tariq al-Hashimi, who is actually in Turkey, was also taken up in the meeting.

Sources said al-Hashimi did not have any request to stay long in Turkey, and Iraqi administration did not have any demands regarding al-Hashimi.

Barzani visited Turkey ahead of the Kurdish conference which will take place in June. During the conference, Barzani is expected to call on PKK to lay down arms.
