The Armenian Patriarch Archbishop to Turkey Aram Atesyan has made a statement while visiting a tent city in south east Turkey, saying that "Turkey is making sacrfices for everyone, under a single roof, without any difference in religion, race, sect and houses everyone together".
Atesian visited the tent city of Suruc in the Prime Ministerial Disaster and Emergency Management Directorate.
The Archbishop who met with Governor Abdullah Ciftci who provided information regarding the tent city to the Archbishop, also met and talked with the Armenian Tomasian family. Atesian then continued to visit the different neigbourhoods in the tent city, and thanked the Sanliurfa governor Izzettin Small and the Governor for their efforts.
Atesian took it upon himself to visit the city when he heard of the presence of Armenian families in the tent city.
"We heard of three Armenian families that were residing in the tent city.By visiting them we can hear from their own experiences and also to speak to the management to see if there is anything we can do to help. Those who live here, who have sought asylum here, we are prepared to help without distinction of belief, religion, race or sect. Of course we have come to visit those Armenian families, and we are prepared to do what we can to for their children".
The governor explained that almost 26,000 people who arrived from Kobani resides in the tents and that all their needs were being met.
