Two deputies from the opposition Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) lost their seats in Turkey's parliament Thursday due to absenteeism.

Tugba Hezer Ozturk, a deputy representing Van, and Faysal Sariyildiz, who represents Sirnak, both lost their seats due to missing too many legislative sessions.

Parliament’s General Assembly voted for the expulsions based on earlier recommendations from a special joint commission.
