Serbian police seized more than a ton of marijuana in a countrywide operation, Interior Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic said Monday.
Six people were taken into custody during the operation Sunday night, Stefanovic said at a news conference in the capital Belgrade.
The interior minister stressed this was the first time in the Balkan region that such a large amount of illegal drugs were seized.
