Algerian Prime Minister Ahmed Ouyahia chaired the opening session of the event, in which interior ministers from 21 Arab League member states are participating.

In an earlier statement, Algeria’s Interior Ministry said the meeting was aimed at “enhancing inter-Arab security cooperation with a view to confronting regional threats."
