Turkish universities are among the top 500 world universities in 2012.
Istanbul University, Hacettepe University, Ankara University, Gazi University and Middle East Technical University (METU) were included in the list of top 500 universities prepared by SCImago Research Group of Spain.
The SCImago Institutions Rankings (SIR) project is a Research Evaluation Platform and Ranking Generator to analyze research outputs of universities and research-focused institutions.
