The number of Turkish troops killed in a clash with PKK militants in Semdinli town of the south-eastern province of Hakkari rose to five.
16 militants were killed in the operation, a statement by the governor's office said Thursday.
The statement said that five troops were killed and seven others were wounded in the clash.
Operations are under way in the region.
