The militant Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) released Justice and Development Party (AK Party) official Hayrullahn Tanış on Thursday.
Three PKK militants abducted Tanış in Van on July 2. He had been standing in front of his home when three men pulled up, forced him into their vehicle and drove off. Police had said that an investigation into his whereabouts was under way.
The PKK, which is listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the EU and the United States, has been waging a bloody war in Turkey's southeast since 1984. More than 40,000 people have been killed during the bloody conflict so far.
