Turkish Foreign Minister Ali Babacan met on Thursday Albanian Prime Minister Sali Berisha.
Babacan is currently in Tirana, Albania to represent Turkey in the foreign ministers meeting of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC).
Speaking after the meeting, Babacan said Turkey and Albania have positive relations and peoples of the countries have very strong friendly ties.
Babacan said investments of Turkish businessmen in Albania were indication of the high level relations between the governments. "Turkey has been monitoring the reforms that take effect in Albania. This country contributes to stability of the region although it was situated in a tough geography," he added.
Babacan said Turkey and Albania have common values, adding that friendly relations between Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Berisha contribute to relations of the two countries.
Albanian Prime Minister Berisha described relations between Turkey and Albania as "excellent" and, referring to improving economic relations, he said Turkish investments in Albania amounted to 860 million USD.
