Chechnya President Ramzan Kadyrov said Friday that "the war in Chechnya has ended and security has been established."
In an exclusive interview with the AA, Kadyrov said that "we have re-constructed our war torn cities with our construction projects."
The 32-year-old Chechen leader Kadyrov said that "the cities of Chechnya were badly damaged in the wars of 1994 and 1998 and many people were killed."
"We can not describe how Grozni saved itself from being a ghost town," Kadyrov noted.
"The economists, politicians and governmental officials who come to Grozni are surprised when they see the recent condition of Grozni. They ask us how we succeeded (in changing Grozni). We are actually the children of war. My team of assistants and I were young children during the wars. We have not witnessed anything other than war and it would have been impossible to re-erect Grozni with our bare hands. We succeeded with the help of God," Kadyrov said.
"Many individuals suffered pain by losing their homes and relatives during the wars. We have made sources available to those in need. We have begun giving monthly salaries to those who have lost relatives and are unemployed. Hundreds of residences have been re-constructed. These new homes have been given to those with no homes," Kadyrov said.
"Chechnya wishes to promote relations with Turkey. We wish the construction of new public facilities to be made by Turkish businessmen," Kadyrov stressed.
"We have constructed six new mosques, with Ottoman-Turkish designs, in Chechnya. These mosques were erected by Turkish businessmen," Kadyrov said.
"I very much hope to see Turkish President Abdullah Gul and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Chechnya," Kadyrov also said.
