Qatar meetings important steps to end Turkish Cyprus isolation: Avci
Qatari Minister of Business and Commerce Al Thani said that opening a TRNC representation in Doha would help improve bilateral relations.

The Turkish Cypriot foreign minister met the prime minister of Qatar on Tuesday.

Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Turgay Avci of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) had a meeting with Hamad bin Jasim bin Jabir Al Thani, the prime minister and foreign minister of Qatar, in the Qatari capital of Doha.

Avci is actually visiting Doha to boost relations between TRNC and Qatar.

The TRNC foreign minister also had a meeting with Sheik Fahd bin Jasim Al Thani, the minister of business and commerce of Qatar.

"The meetings I had with the prime minister and trade minister of Qatar in their offices are the most important steps we have taken in recent years to end TRNC's isolation," Avci told reporters.

Qatari Minister of Business and Commerce Al Thani said that opening a TRNC representation in Doha would help improve bilateral relations.

Al Thani said that Qatari authorities would visit TRNC in the possible soonest time to seek investment opportunities and boost dialogue.
