Turkish State Minister Hayati Yazici said on Wednesday that they aimed to increase trade volume between Turkey and Mongolia to 50 million USD within the next three years.
The trade volume between the two countries rose 90 percent to 12 million USD in January-September, 2008 when compared to the same period of 2007, added Yazici who spoke at the 5th term meeting of Turkey-Mongolia Joint Economic Commission in Ankara.
Yazici said that the trade volume, which was three million USD in the end of 2004, reached 10 million USD in 2007.
He said that there was a cooperation potential on leather, construction, energy, jewelry, mining, food and machinery sectors between Turkey and Mongolia.
Mongolian Environment & Tourism Minister Luimed Gansukh, who also attended the meeting, said that they wanted to develop cooperation with Turkey, adding that tourism, agriculture and infrastructure could be the sectors to cooperate.
