Hisarciklioglu received the medal --which was presented due to his contribution to development of economic and commercial relations between Turkey and Austria-- in a reception held at Austrian Embassy residence.

Austrian Ambassador to Turkey Heide Maria Gurer, Austrian Federal Economic Chamber's Vice President Richard Schenz and businessmen attended the reception.

Hisarciklioglu said that Austrian Federal Economic Chamber extended every type of support for Turkey's full membership to the EU, adding that this support was very meaningful and important for Turkey.

Schenz also said that Turkey was at the 15th place among world's biggest economies.

He noted that Austria's export figure to Turkey in 2008 was nearly one billion Euro which made Turkey the 20th most important commercial partner of Austria.
