Demonstrators protesting a Communist victory in ex-Soviet Moldova's parliamentary election hurled stones and smashed windows on Tuesday as they tried to storm the building housing the president's office.
Reuters reporters said some of the estimated 10,000 protesters were confronting police in the street and trying to smash their way into the building, hitting it with whatever objects they could find.
Moldova's ruling Communists have won a parliamentary election, preliminary results showed on Monday.
