Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan attended inauguration of Kapikule Border Gate facilities as well as Hamzabeyli Border Gate in the northwestern province of Edirne on Friday.
Delivering a speech in the ceremony, Erdogan said two border gates opening to Bulgaria were modernized by the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB).
"We have great cooperations with neighboring countries in the west especially with Bulgaria. We boosted our friendship and mutual confidence with those countries," Erdogan said.
Restoration works in Kapikule Border Gate started last April. The gate will be in service on 330,000 square meters area.
There is a main building including office of the general director, police department
and other institutions, as well as a Free Shop, fast-food, restaurant and some other shops in the Kapikule Border Gate.
