Ten people died and several were injured near the eastern Romanian city of Iasi on Friday when a train and a minibus collided, police said.
"The driver of the minibus did not follow the traffic sign and hit the train, which lead to the death of 10 people and severely injured three," said Ioan Manole, a police officer with the local traffic police.
"The (minibus) driver is on his way to the hospital," he said.
Florin Hadarean, the head of the Regiotrans rail company that owns the train, told local Realitatea TV station that 15 people travelling in the train at the time were unhurt.
