Turkey General Staff Chief General Ilker Basbug visited Pakistan's troubled Swat district during his formal talks in this country, Turkish military spokesman said on Friday.
Spokesman General Metin Gurak told a weekly press briefing that Basbug paid a three-day visit to Pakistan from October 12 to 15.
Basbug met with Pakistan's President Asif Ali Zardari, Chief of General Staff Gen. Tariq Majid and Commander of Land Forces Gen. Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, Gurak told reporters.
Basbug also made a speech at a conference at the National Defense University.
Gen. Gurak also said that Hungarian Chief of General Staff would pay a visit to Turkey on October 19 as the formal guest of General Basbug.
