VISA REQUIREMENT LIFTED WITH LIBYA
During Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan's visit to Libya, Libyan Prime Minister al-Baghdadi Ali al-Mahmudi announced that Libya and Turkey decided to lift visa mutually.

Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan paid a visit to Libya which is considered the door to Africa. Erdogan was accompanied by three ministers and 200 businessmen.
Libyan leader Muammar Qadhafi hosted Erdogan at his tent in the garden of his palace in Tripoli.
Referring to determined and fair stance of Erdogan, Quadhafi eulogized Erdogan's good will efforts to reach regional peace.
Libyan leader said, "you have water and we have oil. We may unite the countries. Istanbul was also our capital city in the past."
Turkey's request to explore oil in Libya was accepted. Mutually, the two countries removed visa requirements. Erdogan said the Libyan leader would soon pay a visit to Turkey.

MODERN AND STRONG TURKEY DEPENDS ON EDUCATION
President Abdullah Gul and his wife Hayrunisa Gul hosted teachers coming all around Turkey to mark the November 24 Teachers' Day.
Gul's geography teacher Mefkure Kilincarslan was among the guests.
Gul hosted a lunch for the guests and said such meetings would continue traditionally.
President Gul said a modern, happy and strong Turkey depended on education.

32,000 NEW CIVIL SERVANTS TO PUBLIC
2010 budget was adopted at commission. Five percent increase in salaries of civil servants became certain. Two-children limit was lifted for financial assistance to families. Also 32,000 new civil servants will be employed in public institutions.

EVERYBODY, WHO WANTS, TO GET VACCINATED
Health Ministry stated that all citizens at and under the age of 24 would be vaccinated against swine flu as of today if they wanted. The ministry said that the vaccinations would be free of charge in all health centers, family health centers and state hospitals.

MESSAGE OF PEACE FROM TENT
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan met with Libyan leader Muammar Qadhafi in his tent. Qadhafi said that he respected Erdogan's "one minute" scold (during Davos meeting). Qadhafi gave message of peace to the world during the meeting which lasted for 2.5 hours.

Turkey's Secretariat General for the EU will employ a Turkish citizen of Armenian descent as an EU expert for the first time. Officials with the Secretariat General for the EU will have an interview with Leo Suren Halepli who passed the first phase.

REJECTION FROM GUL TO PERES' INVITATION
President Abdullah Gul did not respond positively to Israeli Minister of Industry, Trade & Labor Binyamin Ben Eliezer who conveyed the invitation of Israeli President Shimon Peres. Gul said, "Israel should show that it is willing and sincere for peace."

RUSH OF TURKISH TRADEMARKS TO NORTH OF IRAQ
Turkish trademarks sealed Majidi Mall which was opened in Irbil, Iraq. 22 Turkish trademarks including Vakko, Atasay, Mavi, Damat, Gulluoglu and LC Waikiki opened stores at the mall.

Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan met with Libyan Prime Minister al-Baghdadi Ali al-Mahmudi. Following the meeting, al-Mahmudi told reporters that they had reached an agreement to lift visa procedures between Turkey and Libya.

HISTORICAL SUMMIT AT TENT
Recep Tayyip Erdogan has become the first ever Turkish prime minister visiting Libya in the last 13 years. Erdogan met Libyan leader Muammar Qadhafi for 2.5 hours at a tent in the garden of Bab-al Aziza Palace.
Four ministers and 200 businessmen attended Erdogan's visit.
The problem regarding the 700 million USD that has not been paid to Turkey was solved during the visit and visa was lifted mutually.
As the plane was on its way to Turkey, Libya said it would immediately pay its 700 million USD debts to Turkish companies.

LAST OTTOMAN TRACE TO GET ERASED
Colonnades, which are the last Ottoman works of art standing in Kaaba will be broken down after the Feast of Sacrifice.
The colonnades, planned by chief Ottoman architect Mimar Sinan, will be demolished to enlarge the courtyard of the Kaaba.

Leading newspaper, Financial Times, in its full page analysis headlined "Turkey's Ottoman Vision", said Turkey, after turning its face to the West for years, was re-engaging with the territories once ruled by its sultans.
Commenting on the foreign policy, the analysis said Justice & Development (AK) Party looked for activity on these territories extending from the Balkans to Baghdad.
The analysis said the most important weapon in the drive eastwards was not religion but trade.

HE EULOGIZES TURKEY IN SAME TENT AFTER 13 YEARS
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan made his mark on a surprising decision in the first stop of his visit to Libya. The two countries removed visa requirement mutually.
Erdogan later met Libyan leader Muammar Qadhafi for 2.5 hours at a tent in the garden of Bab-al Aziza Palace.
It was reported that Qadhafi at the meeting eulogized the foreign policy pursued by Turkey and suggested to have mutual investments in Africa.

DAY OF CIVIL SERVANTS
Civil servants' unions in Turkey are getting ready to go on a one-day strike. The strike which is organised by Turkey's major confederations of civil servant unions, Kamu-Sen and KESK, aims at laying the foundation of union rights of civil servants, including the right to go on strikes and the right to hold collective bargaining talks.

British Financial Times published an analysis, "Turkey's Ottoman Vision", regarding foreign policy of Turkey. The analysis said, "the ruling Justice & Development (AK) party is re-engaging with territories once ruled by the sultans, from the Balkans to Baghdad, in a drive to return Turkey to a place among the leadership of the Muslim world and the top ranks of international diplomacy."
