Kenan Sofuoğlu, first Turkish world motorcycle champion, rejected a huge money because it comes from "gambling game" that is banned or "Haram" in Islam.
Sofuoglu won the Supersport World Championship in 2007 and is the first sportsman to gamble on behalf of his name in Turkey.
Champion Turkish motorcyclist Kenan Sofuoglu said never touched the money he was entitled to obtain due to royalty rights from "Iddiaa" that is a gambling game.
Kenan Sofuoglu won 700 thousand Turkish liras individually so far.
According to the Turkish newspaper Haberturk's story, Sofuoglu did not take any of all these money that amounts to 700 thousand TL since Islam forbids gambling.
The motorcyclist told the report, he and his family did not receive the betting money because they are devout.
"I spent 300 thousand liras to a school in my hometown, Sakarya. The rest will go to the charity," the national sportsman said.
"I do not want any royalty from this gambling game anymore," he added.
