Muslims congratulated on Friday Eid Al-Adha in many corners of the worlds, including oppressed and conflicted areas as Hajj pilgrimage performed the Eid prayers at Qaaba in Makkah.
Muslims performed Eid Al-Adha prayers at the Grand Mosque in Makkah and Prophet's Mosque in Madinah in Saudi Arabia, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
Millions of pilgrims in Mina filed by the three jamarat pillars tossed stones to mark Abraham's three rejections of the devil's attempts to persuade him to ignore God's instructions to sacrifice his son Ishmael.
The three-day holiday comes right after the hajj, which saw Muslims from around the world make a pilgrimage to Mecca this week.
Turkey's IHH, Humanitarian Relief Foundation slaughtered qurbans (sacrifice) in the regions hit by wars, conflicts, natural disasters, famine and drought and initially the countries with Muslim minorities totally in 120 regions and countries worldwide and also 50 Turkish provinces.
Besides the qurban organization abroad, its activities will be in the same condensity in Turkey as well.
This year IHH will deliver sacrificial meats to the people in need in different parts of Anatolia initially East and Southeastern Anatolia.
In Palestine, the families of 10,000 Palestinian detainees greeted their relatives this Eid Al-Adha with wishes that their sons or daughters be among those released in a swap deal between Israel and Hamas, Maan news agency said.
The detainees issue was the hot topic this year as family members went from home to home greeting each other and wishing blessings on friends and kin. Pondering the authenticity of media reports, many questioned whether or not there would be a deal this time around.
In the United states, hundreds of Muslims congratulated the Islmaic Eid. A service is expected to draw more than 1,500 people, said Muhammad Shafiq of Henrietta, imam of the Islamic Center of Rochester.
"It's a huge crowd," Masood said, "and it just gives people the sense that so many people from so many countries, different nationalities and ethnicities and all that, get together and say our prayers together."
Meanwhile, Eid Al Adha prayers were offered today in Abu Dhabi at Sheikh Zayed Mosque amid calls for solidarity and adherence for the Islamic teachings and values.
Sheikh Ali Al Hashimi, adviser at the Ministry of Presidential Affairs, stressed in Eid sermon the importance of adherence to Prophet Mohammed's (PBUH) legacy, which was delivered on the same day in history on message and values of Islam.
In Cairo, shopkeepers have replenished their stocks of food, sweets and cakes, BBC reported.
Traders selling shoes and clothes are optimistic too, hoping that Egyptians will not spare their last pennies and enjoy themselves during this time, it said.
On the other hand, in Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyet Conference and other liberation leaders have felicitated the Ummah in general and people of Kashmir in particular on the Eid emphasizing that the people of Jammu and Kashmir had rendered "matchless sacrifices for achieving right to self-determination and their sacrifices would not go waste."
Also, Surinamese Muslims prayed their Eid pray in Independence Square on the first day of Eid al-Adha in Paramaribo.
