Turkey will begin marketing weapons to many countries in five continents. Turkish defense industry received first purchase orders from Australia and south Africa. YOK TO OBJECT TO COUNCIL OF STATE'S DECISION
The Higher Education Board (YOK) is getting ready to raise objections to the decision of the Council of State to cancel the coefficient system in university exam. YOK says that the Council of State's decision is against the international conventions and the right and freedom of education in the Turkish Constitution. "This decision is simply the acceptance of a cast system," YOK will object.

State Minister & chief negotiator for EU talks Egemen Bagis said that evidence found during the Ergenekon probe disturbed even the EU-member countries. "Explosives, plans and maps seized during the investigation changed the EU's point of view. Now, Europe waits for a punishment for those who tried to destroy democratic order," he said.

ERGENEKON BREAKS THE CAGE
The "Cage plan", which was drafted to strike a blow to democracy, will be included in the fourth indictment of Ergenekon case, sources said.
Three admirals, who allegedly were in charge of execution of the plan, will be interrogated, sources added.
DECEMBER 7 CAN BE A MILESTONE
Crucial decisions were made at the meeting of the then U.S. President George W. Bush and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan in 2007.
Now, White House is preparing for the meeting of Erdogan and Barack Obama. The two leaders will discuss several issues from terrorism and Cyprus to Armenia and the Middle East.
Obama and Erdogan are also expected to discuss Iran and Israel.

PEOPLE SAYS NEGAR SHOULD NOT BE EXRADITED
Nearly 500 thousand people joined a public survey in Hurriyet daily's web-page in the last two days and 98.3 percent of them said that Negar Azizmoradi should not be extradited to Iran. She escaped to Turkey with a fake passport from Iran where she faced a likely death sentence for declaring herself an atheist. After she was arrested in Turkey, she sought asylum.

TWO WARNINGS TO WASHINGTON
Eric Edelman, who was acting as the U.S. Ambassador in Ankara while there were some plans to overthrow the government, told the Milliyet daily that some people told him in 2004 and in 2005 that they were concerned about such initiatives. Edelman said that there were not any concrete data and reliable evidence about the attempts. He said they assured the Turkish government that they would not support such an attempt to overthrow the government.

Ali Balkiz, chairman of the Federation of Alevis and Bektashis, said that they would support the new leftist formation. He said that the new political party will be formed in January and join the next general elections.

GREAT PROJECT
Higher Education Board will make a structural university reform. Country's four or five leading universities, such as the Middle East Technical University, Istanbul Technical University and Bilkent University, will become "centers of perfection."
Board chairman Yusuf Ziya Ozcan said, "universities are sleeping like a dead. We have to shake them."
These universities will be taken out of bureaucratic circle. They will be supported by national research institutes. Board will also allocate funds for them. Prominent scientists from around the world will be invited to work at these universities.
"Foreign scientists may ask 15,000 USD a month. It is ok. We can set up centers of perfection. These scientists can work at these places together with their team. Turkey should make a move on areas such as gene, nanotechnology and stem cell," Ozcan said.
PROVOCATIVE TRAP IN SOUTHEAST
Supporters of the terrorist organization PKK attacked to police stations and political party buildings with fire molotov cocktails because it was the 31st anniversary of the PKK on Sunday. A group of 300 PKK supporters threw stones and molotovs to a police station in southern province of Mersin. Police opened fire in the air to disperse the crowd. One person was injured. In Diyarbakir province, PKK members threw molotov cocktail to a building of Justice & Development (AK) Party. A 17-year-old boy was injured.

Donations sent from Turkey were distributed to poor people in Nigeria. Turkish people sent financial aid through relief organizations instead of sacrificing an animal during the Feast of Sacrifice.
FIRE-BOMB ATTACK ON POLICE STATION IN MERSIN
Nearly 400 people gathered in the southern province of Mersin on the anniversary of foundation of the PKK terrorist organization and threw fire-bombs on a police station. Security forces responded them by opening fire. A 16-year-old supporter of the PKK was injured. Dozens of people were detained.

DANGER IN FOOD
The ruling Justice & Development (AK) Party has not thought public health while preparing the regulation on genetically modified organisms. They bowed to importers.
Gurol Ergin, a member of main opposition CHP's committee on genetically modified organisms, said that the regulation was amended because of pressure from importers. He said government put public health in danger, adding that anything can enter Turkey without any analyses until March.
THE STORY OF RELEASE: PIRATES HAVE "MASTERMINDS"
Nilgun Yamaner, lawyer of the Turkish shipping company whose ship Horizon-1 was hijacked by Somali pirates, told the story of how the ship and its crew were released. According to Yamaner, there is a team of masterminds using computers, monitoring navigation of ships and obtaining information about these ships.
Big slice of the ransom goes to this team of masterminds, she said. Yamaner stated that Somalian pirates hijack 20-30 ships a year and they make a lot of money.
"They have sent their children to good schools in United States or European countries. They live in extremely luxurious buildings," Yamaner said.
