A U.N. climate summit was close to agreeing a non-binding deal for combating global warming on Friday after more than a day of deadlock, India's environment minister said.

"We are close to seeing a legally non-binding Copenhagen outcome after 36 hours of gruelling, intensive negotiations," Jairam Ramesh told Reuters.
