A group of Turkish doctors departed Wednesday for the west African country of Guinea Bissau for health screening.
Nine doctors and two medical personnel with Turkey branch of the international charity Doctors Worldwide are set to conduct health screening in Bissau as well as meet health ministry officials.
The team is consisted of a general surgeon, pediatricians, a pediatric surgeon, an gynecologist as well as a dentist.
The Turkish doctors will also perform surgeries in case of need and lay down the groundwork for other Turkish doctors to arrive in the country in the future.
The team's efforts in Guinea Bissau are sponsored by Turkey's development agency, TIKA.
