United States plans to launch a military attack on "at least two countries" in the Middle East in the next three months in order to pressure Tehran, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad told state-run Press TV.

"They have decided to attack at least two countries in the region in the next three months," Ahmadinejad said in excerpts broadcast on the rolling news channel on Tuesday.

Ahmadinejad said Iran had "very precise information that the Americans have hatched a plot, according to which they to wage a psychological war against Iran".

Ahmadinejad said the United States was seeking to achieve two main objectives from these wars.

"First of all, they want to hamper Iran's progress and development since they are opposed to our growth, and, secondly, they want to save the Zionist regime because it has reached a dead-end and the Zionists believe they can be saved through a military confrontation," he said referring to Israel.

Israel, most experts estimate that it has at least between 100 and 200 nuclear warheads, often threatens the Islamic republic with an attack.
