Turkish State Minister Faruk Celik said on Tuesday that Turkey would support protection of Ottoman arts in Macedonia.
Celik, who is currently in Skopje, met with the head of Macedonia's official Islamic Religious Community Suleyman Rexhepi.
Rexhepi briefed Celik about the religious activities of Turks in Macedonia as well as the relations between Islamic Religious Community in Macedonia and Turkish religious institutions.
Noting that International Cooperation & Development Agency of Turkey (TIKA) repaired Mustafa Pasa Mosque dating back to 15th century in Skopje, Rexhepi said that the mosque would be opened to public soon.
Celik appreciated the efforts of Islamic Religious Community to protect the Ottoman mosques in Macedonia, adding that Turkey was interested in other Ottoman arts which needed repair too.
Celik will attend a ceremony and meet with Macedonian Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski later in the day.
