Twenty-two killed in house fire in China

The fire broke out at around 4:32 am (20:32pm GMT) in Yushan Town north-west of Shanghai in Jiangsu province, the official Xinhua news agency reported.

At least 22 people were killed and another three were injured Sunday in a fire at a two-story residential house in eastern China, state media said.

The fire was extinguished later in the morning, according to Xinhua.

The cause of the fire is unclear and an investigation is underway, the agency added.
