A clash between two rival tribes has led to at least eight people and 18 others being killed in Pakistan on Thursday.
Rival tribesmen were fighting over disputed land in the Shahdadkot area of southern Sindh province according to a city police chief, Sarfraz Nawaz Shaikh.
Local channel Dawn TV reported that the deceased included an official of the Intelligence Bureau, a federal intelligence agency.
Zamir Kharal, a local resident, told that dozens of heavily armed people from the rival tribes took part in the clash, which police tried to bring under control.
At least five of the 16 injured were said to be in critical condition.
Sindh's remote tribal belt is notorious for tribal clashes, mainly over the issue of agricultural lands, which frequently lead to deaths.
A lack of government authority in the area often leads to tribes settling disputes by themselves.
