Algerian "terrorists" took part in the attack on the home of Tunisian Interior Minister Loutfi Ben Jeddou, a judicial official said on Wednesday.
"Algerian terrorists were among the militants who attacked the minister's home in Kasserine town," Sufian al-Seliti, the spokesman for Tunisia's Court of First Instance, was quoted as saying by the official news agency.
The Interior Ministry said four policemen were killed during an exchange of fire with militants targeting the private residence of Ben Jeddou in Kasserine late on Tuesday.
The security situation in Kasserine has been affected by a military operation launched last summer against rebel groups holed up in the adjacent Chaambi Mountains on the border with Algeria.
Al-Seliti said preliminary investigations showed that a group of 15-20 masked rebels took part in the attack on the minister's home.
He added that it was the same group involved in the killing of Tunisian soldiers in July.Last Mod: 29 Mayıs 2014, 09:48
