A coalition of groups that support ousted president Mohamed Morsi has called on Egyptians to keep protests against what it describes as the "military coup" against the elected leader.
In a statement, the National Alliance for the Defense of Legitimacy thanked Egyptians for participating in its nationwide demonstrations on Friday.
"Crowds took to the streets nationwide, defying threats of killing, detention and humiliation," the pro-democracy bloc sasid.
Pro-Morsi demonstrators took to the streets on Friday to denounce the July 3 military ouster of the democratically-elected head of state.
The coalition urged Egyptians to keep their protest throughout the week under the banner "Patience is the Way to Victory".
Over the past 113 days, Morsi supporters have been staging daily rallies and protests to demand the reinstatement of the Islamist president.Last Mod: 19 Ekim 2013, 12:51
