The Cairo Criminal Court decided on Monday to postpone until November 16 the retrial of toppled president Hosni Mubarak on charges of killing peaceful demonstrators during the 2011 uprising and squandering public funds.
The postponement came after the court decided to summon former prime minister Ahmed Nazif, who served under Mubarak, for testimony, judicial sources told Anadolu Agency.
Mubarak is being tried along with his two sons, interior minister Habib al-Adly, six former Interior Ministry officials and a business mogul.
He has been placed under house arrest by interim Prime Minister Hazem al-Beblawi soon after his release in August.
Judge Mahmoud al-Rashidi has ordered a ban on media coverage of the retrial.Last Mod: 22 Ekim 2013, 09:34
