Riot police in Djibouti city fired teargas at opposition supporters in a run-down suburb of the capital on Friday, a Reuters witness said, after similar clashes earlier this week.

Opposition leaders had called for demonstrations after Friday prayers in protest at last weekend's parliamentary election result which saw the ruling party win a large majority. The opposition said the vote was flawed.
