Egypt's interim President Adly Mansour will visit Saudi Arabia, one of the three Gulf monarchies that support the military-backed government, on Monday.

Mansour was appointed in July after a military coup ousted the Muslim Brotherhood's Morsi. Mansour's first foreign visit since he was appointed could include other countries, Egyptian Presidency spokesman Ihab Badawi said.

Last month,  President Mansour was planning to visit Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to show appreciation for their role in supporting Egypt, said his office.

Saudi Arabia, UAE and Kuwait have pledged $12 billion in aid for Egypt's economy. Saudi Arabia was among the first Arab countries to support the army's July 3 ouster of President Mohamed Morsi.
