An Italian delegation will visit Egypt on October 10 to discuss establishing investment projects in the country, Egyptian ambassador to Italy Amr Helmi has said.
The envoy said the delegation will hold talks on establishing projects in the fields of shipbuilding and the production of electric motors, according to a statement released by the Foreign Ministry.
The talks of the Italian delegation will also focus on launching long-term investments in the field of tourism, Helmi said following talks with Antonio Badini, the head of the Egyptian-Italian Friendship and Cooperation Society.
The delegation will also engage in talks on establishing an Olympian sport compound in the Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh.
Italian investments in Egypt are estimated at 5 billion euros and Italy comes 8th among the biggest investors in Egypt.
Italy is Egypt's biggest trade partner, with their trade exchange having amounted to $5.2 billion in 2012.
