A Libyan intelligence officer was killed and his son injured late on Saturday when a charge planted under the officer's car seat went off in the eastern Libyan city of Benghazi.
This is the second such incident to take place in the turbulent city in less than 48 hours.
A Libyan security source, who asked not to be named, told Anadolu Agency that the officer's son is two years old.
"The charge went off as the officer drove along one of the streets of Benghazi," the source said.
A Libyan air force officer was gunned down on Friday by militants in Benghazi as well, a medical source said.
Libya has been on the crest of a high wave of turmoil since the downfall of the Muammar Gaddafi regime in 2011.
