Ousted President Mohamed Morsi on Saturday called for the prosecution of former Interim President Adly Mansour, who currently heads Egypt's Supreme Constitutional Court, accusing him of "usurping" Egypt's presidency last year.

The ousted President had interrupted his lawyers, who demanded bringing incumbent President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi to court for ousting an elected president and putting an interim president in his stead in July of last year, by demanding Mansour's prosecution.

During a hearing on Morsi's trial of breaking his jail cell during the 2011 uprising that ended the autocracy of ex-president Hosni Mubarak, Morsi's lawyers also called for bringing al-Sisi to court for suspending the 2012 constitution, which was approved, while Morsi was still in office.

Mansour, originally the head of the Supreme Constitutional Court, was appointed interim president soon after the army ousted Morsi in July of last year.

He returned to his post at the top of the court after al-Sisi was elected president in June of this year.

Morsi is tried on charges of breaking his jail cell in 2011 along with 130 people.

Egypt's first elected president after the 2011 uprising that ended Mubarak's autocracy of three decades, Morsi is tried on a wide range of other charges, including espionage and killing demonstrators.

On Saturday, the court adjourned Morsi's jailbreak trial until December 27.
